I've just finished a three week tour with the VELG VET Summit which was totally amazing and heaps of fun. Seriously, I had so much fun meeting new people, sharing my ideas and just being "on the road".
You probably already know that I draw a lot of energy from doing this type of work. It energises me, inspires me and makes me feel really great to be able to give back in a way that is helpful to people. In a lot of ways, this type of work is my dream job.
It's only after I have actually stopped running around that I realise how tiring it is! I mean, I always knew that it takes as much energy from me as it gives me, but now that I have actually stopped, I realise just how much energy it takes.
This sounds like I am complaining, but I'm not. I couldn't be happier! It is that special feeling of exhaustion that comes after you've done so much hard work on an activity that you love. Exhaustion / exhilaration - "exhaustaration" perhaps?
Anyhow, I guess what I am saying is don't confuse being exhausted with not liking what you're doing. It could be that your exhaustion is 100% worth it, because it serves your needs, values and goals. And if it's not..... then maybe you need to rethink doing it in the first place?
What have you been "exhausturated" after lately?
Cheers,
Nick
